I visited WinCo FOODS at 10th Street West and Avenue K (next to Lowes) when it first opened. I never went back until this past Saturday. My cousin asked me to go there with her. I was so impressed that I ended up going back again on Sunday for more shopping. Although I will continue to shop at my favorite supermarkets, WinCo is now on my list of favorites.
In case you are wondering what “hooked” me. It was the bulk items that can be bought in small or large quantities. Have you ever bought a box of brown sugar when you only needed a table spoon or two? After a while, the rest of the box of sugar becomes hard as a rock. How about spices that you only needed for one special meal? After a while, the items become stale or expired and have to be thrown out. At WinCo, you can buy the quantity you need for today, the coming week or month. No more wasting good money just to let food items expire and go bad.
The selection of bulk food items is huge. You can buy any quantity or measurement of spices, pasta, coffee beans, chopped nuts, whole nuts, brownie mix, baking ingredients, candies, hard to find lentils and beans, pet food and more. Variety is definitely the spice of life!
Do you want fresh peanut or almond butter? A machine is availabe that grinds peanuts and almonds for the amount you want. Almond butter is fantastic. Don’t take my word for it. Visit our local store here in Lancaster, CA. WinCo FOODS
